It was my wife and I’s anniversary so, why not Vegas? She always wanted to go to the Sphere since it opened. Bucket list. We stayed off strip because it’s cheaper. We stayed at Sam’s Town on Boulder Highway. We stayed there, last year, for our son, Joseph’s 21st birthday. It is a nice western style theme. We drove from SoCal along north 15 freeway, the only way, really, to go to Vegas. We left on a Saturday morning and got there in the afternoon. Of course, stopping at Barstow station and Baker’s tallest thermometer. I went for the king suite for our anniversary, a little pricey, but my wife is worth it. Sam’s Town has an indoor atrium, and our hotel window overlooked it, breathtaking. I took her to a steakhouse for dinner. Not just an ordinary steakhouse, but Primal. A must and I highly recommend it. My wife had the filet mignon, and I had the Elk rack. Both were extremely good. We got cocktails and mine came in a Viking horn! I even bought one to take home. We had a flambe for dessert that they put on fire at the table, amazing. Primal is very economical when it comes to steakhouses in Las Vegas. We paid about two hundred dollars for the two of us. A lot of money, but your anniversary is just once a year. Sunday was the Sphere. There is a movie called ‘Postcards from Earth”. The Sphere itself is amazing. The seating is very steep so, be prepared for that. There were several AI demonstrations in the lobby which were futuristic. The sphere was about $100- per person. This is the norm for tickets. The Sphere is worth going at least once. The third day we drove home and stopped at a huge gas station in Jean, Nevada. It was called Terribles. It had 96 gas pumps, huge restrooms, and even a big foot inside. The place was huge, it had pretty much anything you needed and wanted, pretty cool. Go to Vegas, but budget accordingly. It can be pricey.
