Everything I post is either directly or indirectly related to a good value and this one is no different. As you get older, we accumulate a lot of stuff and most of that stuff you do not use daily. Why do we keep it? It can be sentimental or something else. The biggest driver that I used for this topic is one, my parents have passed, and it has been a monumental effort weeding through everything they owned and two, there is nothing wrong with extra money on hand when your close to retirement or even not so, why not sell some stuff. I do not want to bestow upon my kids on cleaning out my stuff when I die. Most of it, they will trash anyway, unfortunately. Remember, even if you are in your twenties, income is not disposable. With that said, sell some of your stuff. There is Marketplace on Facebook or Craigslist. There are a number of others out there too. My personal journey on selling some of my stuff has been quite a long endeavor. I am an avid angler and had enough to open my own store, practically. I could have done that but chose to go this route. I had probably over twenty rod/reel setups and I asked myself why? Most of them I did not even use or just used one or two times. Do I really need it? No. I sold a lot of my fishing gear online to other anglers that could use it right now. I did not make a fortune, but a little bit of pocket money is always nice. Now, I have just what I need to fish and have a good time. Also, camping gear. My family used to camp when the kids were younger. Now, they are adults and have their own busy lives. I thinned out the camping gear, too. Now, I have just enough for my wife and I. This is a good thing too, now I can walk into my shed which is my ‘man cave’ without pulling stuff out just to walk in. Try this and you will be well satisfied at the outcome.
